Late Spring, Summer 2008

Happy Spring! As I write this, the temperature is a glorious degrees, the sun is shining, and the flowers are bloomin'. We have put together an exciting array of workshops for you. From Red Hot Chili Peppers to the cool and restful Bog in a Bowl. There is something for everyone. Take a moment to peruse the choices and treat yourself to a little bit of fun and sanity in an increasingly hectic world. There are still a few pictures to be added and we are working hard on that. 	Wed. 5/14	10 am or 7 pm	Traffic-Stopping Window Box	$29	Traffic-Stopping Window Box Custom-create a 24 inch window box with plants to compliment the colors and sun conditions of your home.
	Sun. 5/18	4 pm	Living Wreath or Ribbon	$29	Make a round wreath or an awareness ribbon-shaped wreath out of impatiens. A portion of this class goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. A great class to bring a mother, daughter, sister or friend.

	Wed. 5/21	10 am or 7 pm	Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds	$29	Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Make TWO cone-shaped baskets with impatiens (aka Patient Lucy) and the hottest new Proven Winner annual, Diamond Frost Euphorbia. Attracts hummingbirds!

	Tues. 5/27	7 pm	Butterfly Magnet	$39	Three different colored butterfly bushes & complimentary fillers in a glazed ceramic pot.
	Wed. 5/28	10 am or 7 pm	Tomato Bag & Tumblin’ Tom	$29	Tomato Bag & Tumblin’ Tom A tomato-splashed tote bag planted with a patio tomato and pesto herbs, plus a twig hanging basket planted with dwarf cherry tomatoes and Italian herbs.
Picture coming soon	Sun. 6/1	4 pm	Vine Chair Trellis Planter	$29	Country-inspired chair acts as both a trellis for a climbing vine, and a pot for various spillers, chillers, and fillers.
	Tues. 6/3	7 pm	Bog in a Bowl	$39	Ceramic pot water garden uses floating water lettuce & water hyacinths as well as unique perennial water plants.
	Wed. 6/4	10 am or 7 pm	Flower Girl	$29	Create a charming garden accent with wire and climbing nasturtiums. This little lady is sure to be the star of your next garden party! (The frame goes right in the ground.)
	Sun. 6/8	4 pm	What’s the Story Morning Glory?	$29	This fast-growing vine will create a giant topiary ball in a few, short weeks, sometimes growing over an inch a day.
	Tues. 6/10	7 pm	Plant Stacker	$39	Durable steel rod allows you to stack several clay pots brimming with colorful spillers, plus the perennial groundcover stonecrop.
	Wed. 6/11	10 am or 7 pm	Mailbox Magic	$29	Be the only person in the neighborhood to show off your love of gardening with this unique “rooftop” garden.
	Sun. 6/15	4 pm	Gourmet Garden	$29	Two climbing kiwi vines, luscious strawberries, edible flowers and tasty herbs mingle in this wooden crate
	Tues. 6/17	7 pm	Endless Summer	$39	Spectacular, everbloomin’ blue hydrangea in a blue ceramic pot & complimentary spillers.
Picture coming soon	Wed. 6/18	10 am or 7 pm	Mary Garden	$29	Use flowers named in Medieval times as symbols of the life, mysteries and privileges of the Blessed Virgin Mary
	Sun. 6/22	4 pm	Fairy House	$29	How many fairies can you attract to this ol’ stump, complete with a decorative wooden door and green roof of spillers? Last year this class inspired the most passion for gardening we’ve ever seen. Why not invite a child to share your passion? This session is FULL. We have added an additional session on Sunday June 22 at 5:30 pm which is FULL as well.
	Tues. 6/24	7 pm	Hosta la Vista	$39	Not only do you get 5 different hosta “chillers” with your flowers, you’ll also make a concrete casting of a hosta leaf to ornament your garden. Return to paint it.
	Wed. 6/25	10 am or 7 pm	Sand Cast Bird Bath	$29	Giant leaves like rhubarb, castor bean and elephant’s ears are cast from concrete into a high-textured bowl. Return to paint it.
	Sun. 6/29	4 pm	Hobbit House	$29	Complete your fantasy garden if you’ve made the fairy house! This has a round wooden door.
	Tues. 7/ 8	7 pm	Cone Crazy	$39	You’ll go crazy over exciting, new coneflower colors of orange and lemon, plus traditional ones with a twist.
	Wed. 7/9	10 am or 7 pm	Red Hot Chili Peppers	$29	Plant this container now, and it will be the showcase of your fall garden. The peppers are edible, but HOT!
Picture coming soon	Sun. 7/ 13	4 pm	Pottery Lottery	$29	A lottery determines the order in which you pick from a wide assortment of pots ranging in price from $25 to $100. Fill with annuals.
	Tues. 7/ 15	7 pm	False Eat’Em	$39	Say the name of this class three times quickly to discover the perennial we will be using to create this late-bloomin’ beauty. Includes 5 different ones!

Participants will leave with a completed project to enjoy as well as to show off to their friends, family and neighbors. Workshops are priced above. The price on the $29 workshops drops to $25 each if one person signs up for three or more total workshops.

Please note the photos are similar to the final project. In order to have photos ready well in advance of class there may be some differences. In many cases photo is from a previous year and the exact container may no longer be available.

Many workshops fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your space early. Pre-registration and prepayment are required. Refunds will be given up to 24 hours before workshop time, after that we will gladly save your materials for a week for you to come get.
